Shame Gravity ($G$)
Shame is not just an emotion; it is a geometric modifier. It acts as “mass” in the phase-space, deepening the shadow wells and making escape more difficult.
The Physics of Shame
$$V_{escape} \propto \sqrt{G \times Activation}$$
- $G=0$ (Flat): A mistake is just data. You can easily move out of the shadow pole.
- $G=1$ (Dip): You feel bad, but can self-correct.
- $G=2$ (Well): You are stuck. You need significant energy (willpower/help) to climb out.
- $G=3$ (Event Horizon): “I am the mistake.” The gravity is so strong that no internal effort can escape.
The Event Horizon (SHAME:HORZ)
At $G=3$, the curvature of the well is infinite from the inside. The subject cannot “try harder” to get out.
- Marker: “This is just who I am.” Total identification with the wound.
- Requirement: External Rescue. A Therapist, Guide, or Grace must reach in (add external energy) to lift the system out.
Binding
Shame “binds” to other affects, locking them in place.
- Fear + Shame: Locks the Fortress.
- Need + Shame: Locks the Swarm.
- Healing: You must reduce $G$ (via Empathy/Witnessing) before you can move the pole.
